i can't get enough of sam's birthday pictures...i had to post a couple more. every picture captures a little bit of sam that i absolutely love and special part of the day i don't want to forget.
as part of the dinner, which was sort of a chinese/spring theme with homemade eggrolls and rice, we had fortune cookies for everyone and in return they had to write a fortune for sam to put in her remember book...this was one of my favorites by my dad which pretty much sums up sam's day (it's more of an account of what sam and my dad did that day than a fortune, but simply perfect)
"Dear Samantha, on your 1st birthday we ate, we sang, we laughed, we cried, we even fell and bumped our nose :) but you did it all with a big smile on your face :) that I will always remember!!!"

So cute! Who decorated the cake and who took the photos? Where are you guys living at now?
christy: my brother adam made the cake, my little brother's girlfriend jessica took the pictures (jessicajaneaphotography.blogspot.com) and we live in good ole idaho!
